On Thursday afternoon, forestry work put a 65-year-old Styrian man in a fatal situation: The man had set out in the morning on impassable terrain to carry out logging and clearing work. While he was sawing through a felled tree with a chainsaw, the tense trunk suddenly shot up towards the worker.

The 65-year-old’s leg got stuck between the fallen tree and another trunk. Fortunately, he was not the only one in the forest: a colleague rushed to his aid, freed the man and called the rescue team. The emergency doctor provided first aid and the Styrian was then taken to the LKH Graz with injuries of undetermined nature.
