A spectacular rescue operation took place around noon on Tuesday in Laxenburg, Mödling district (Lower Austria). The Red Cross, the police and a ÖAMTC emergency doctor helicopter were deployed.
As the “Krone” learned, an approximately 80-year-old woman complained of significant health problems. The woman’s nurse immediately notified emergency services. A Red Cross ambulance, a police patrol car and the ÖAMTC emergency doctor helicopter “Christophorus 3” from Wiener Neustadt were alerted by “Notruf Niederösterreich”.
Landing in the Palace Park
While the ambulance with the paramedics was able to drive directly to the site of the disaster, the helicopter pilot landed the flying intensive care unit in the nearby castle park.
An executive patrol car brought the emergency doctor and the air rescue service to the patient. “Good teamwork is the key to success,” a spokesman for the ÖAMTC told the Krone.
After first aid and stabilization by the A&E doctor, the patient was taken to hospital by ambulance.
