Austria helps – rescue of little patients from war zones

Date:

Young cancer patients from a bombed Ukrainian hospital have been flown to Austria for treatment.

The Russian missile shower on Kiev caused a great deal of commotion almost two weeks ago: “Okhmatdyt”, the largest children’s hospital in the country, has been bombed to pieces since a direct hit. Moving images of small cancer patients lying on their sickbeds before their smoking remains with an IV in their arm went around the world.

Now, on the initiative of Chancellor Karl Nehammer, rescue for at least two of the seriously ill little patients! Twelve-year-old Vladislav and Yurii (13), who were also seriously ill, were flown to Austria for treatment. The two little patients are now receiving further chemotherapy in local hospitals in Graz and Salzburg. “It was immediately clear to me that we would provide help,” said the ÖVP leader.

Mother: “I am very grateful”
The mothers of the two boys are relieved after the shock: “The day of the attack was the most terrible day of our lives. I am really grateful that fate gave us this chance. In Austria everyone is so friendly and helpful, the welcome was warm!” Help for other children is now being investigated.
