The gross domestic product (GDP) of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country has increased by 0.4% in the second quarter of 2024, compared to the previous quarter, according to Eustat estimates. Compared to the second quarter of 2023, the increase in GDP is 1.8%.
The current economic information available to the Basque Institute of Statistics, Eustat, when preparing this Preview of Quarterly Economic Accounts, indicates that year-on-year growth is mainly supported by the development of the service sector.
The jobalso measured as full-time equivalents it has increased in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa in the second quarter of 2024; specifically, 0.6% compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the estimated growth is 1.8%.
