Burgenland shocked – 4 Britons deliberately raced into the radar at a speed of 266 km/h

Date:

Four Britons took on the police and deliberately allowed themselves to be ‘flashed’. They were certain they could avoid punishment. The background.

It couldn’t be more brazen – or stupid! For days, four young Britons raced through northern Burgenland in cars with up to 400 hp, just to play a dirty game with traffic control and fool the authorities. The hooligans deliberately raced past radar boxes at top speed and deliberately allowed themselves to be ‘flashed’ at much too high speeds. They were sure that as non-EU citizens they could easily avoid punishment.

A series of speeding violations
The dangerous racers were, however, gravely mistaken. In early July, they came to the attention of the executive branch. And the British hooligans followed suit. Less than three weeks later, there was a whole series of blatant speeding violations in the Eisenstadt-Raum district. The police had two BMW sports cars and two Audi models on their radar, each with British license plates.

“The BMW M3 in the group had exceeded the speed limit thirteen times within two weeks. A measuring point on the bypass around Schützen am Gebirge showed a maximum speed of 244 km/h, another on the A3 indicated exactly 251 km/h,” according to the data from the authority. The other three cars of the fast-moving quartet were even “picked” on the same routes with 259 and 266 km/h.

Two wanted hooligans were stopped by police
The 80 officers on duty on the grid square this weekend in particular had these speed devils in their sights. On the day of “Aktion Sharp”, the Briton’s 18-year-old BMW M3 raced around the ring road around Schützen at around 1:30 p.m. at over 230 km/h instead of the permitted speed of 100 km/h.

Send known
The checkpoint at the rest stop on the B50 in Eisenstadt was the end of the line. According to the police, the young driver confessed when he was shown the radar photos of his horror rides. The father’s sports car was impounded and the 18-year-old’s driver’s license was revoked.

Great for 21 year olds
He had to pay several thousand euros as a so-called bail. A police patrol tracked down one of the wanted Audi drivers (21) from England on the A3 and arrested him in Eisenstadt. He also had to spend a lot of money.

The search is on for the other two speeders. The police wanted to arrest them at the campsite in Rust, but the British guests had fled abroad.
