Woman and man in JA – internationally wanted: suspects arrested in Vienna

Over the weekend, investigators from the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department arrested two suspects wanted on warrants and took each of them to a prison for surrender. Accordingly, a 39-year-old woman wanted in her native Slovakia was taken out of circulation in Hernals on Saturday, and a 21-year-old Romanian was taken out of circulation the following day in Brigittenau.

According to police, the Romanian was arrested on Monday by investigators from the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department in cooperation with the Federal Criminal Police. He is suspected of committing an excessive kidnapping in Moldova in 2018. The Vienna Emergency Task Force (WEGA) supported the investigators in the arrest and transfer to prison.

Slovak pretended to be an aunt
In the case of the 39-year-old, who was the subject of several European Arrest Warrants issued by Slovak law enforcement authorities, she was found at her daughter’s home address, where she allegedly attempted to pose as an aunt before admitting that she was the one she was looking for.
