Fatal accident at work in Obertilliach in East Tyrol early Wednesday morning! A Romanian (18) was hit by a tree while working in the forest. The worker suffered serious injuries.
The serious accident happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. The 18-year-old was doing woodwork during forestry work in the Dorfertal in the Federspiel area of Obertilliach. The Romanian was operating the winch using a radio control.
Taken to hospital by emergency doctor
“During the transport, a tree slipped and hit the 18-year-old in the head,” the researchers say. The worker suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the clinic in Klagenfurt by the emergency doctor.
The Obertilliach mountain rescue service was on duty with eight men, a fire engine and two officers from the Sillian police station.
