She tried to kill her boyfriend Andreas F. twice. The Public Prosecution Service is now bringing the explosives charge against Bernadette H. (32) – she risks life imprisonment.
For two years, the police have been investigating at full speed – so that the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Korneuburg (Lower Austria) now accuses the results on 38 pages. And they are remarkable in the most negative sense: Bernadette H. is accused of two attempted murders, false evidence in several cases and various defamation.
Mushrooms and methanol in the special drink
What happened? On July 8, the now 32-year-old allegedly poisoned her partner Andreas F. – “by mixing methanol and mushrooms with psilocin into his drink and giving it to him to drink,” the prosecutor said. “Only by quickly initiating specific treatment and washing blood could the very likely imminent death be prevented.”
Just four months later, the next suspect of attempted murder said: “Bernadette H. encouraged him to eat muffins that she had baked.” The trained pastry chef used sleeping pills in the dessert and cut his wrist after he fell unconscious. And this time, too, he was saved thanks to quick medical attention and the fact that the Lower Austrian narrowly missed the forearm artery.
The suspect was stabbed
The burden of evidence against the 32-year-old became increasingly overwhelming, acquaintances and relatives of Andreas F. slowly discovered her – and the police were already investigating. “In this procedure, several orders were issued and several experts were appointed until the spring of 2023, which made Bernadette H. nervous and ultimately decided to divert the suspicion from herself,” said the public prosecutor.
What ultimately follows on the night of May 16-17, 2023, could also be read in a crime novel instead of an indictment: with a separately pursued accomplice, defended by lawyer Mirsad Musliu, she pretended to have committed a knife attack on herself – and then on hers. now blamed on ex-boyfriend. The 32-year-old took blood and placed it in front of and in Andreas F.’s house. She even stole his mobile phone while he was asleep, made false calls and wrote messages.
She then allowed the accomplice to hurt her. However, for the police, everything pointed to the 42-year-old blind ex. He was even taken into custody and had to stay there for almost two months. The language assistant “Alexa” eventually acquitted him and exposed Bernadette H. In the subsequent investigation, she allegedly lied that the beams were bending.
Forensic psychiatrist Peter Hofmann explains the woman’s behavior according to the prosecutor: “It can be assumed that the suspect has no social inhibitions to assert her wishes and needs.” That and her diagnosed personality disorder would make her dangerous, a plea for a forensic therapeutic drug center.
She dismisses this finding as ‘nonsense’. Her lawyer Sascha Flatz: “My client emphatically denies the allegations of the public prosecutor.” And that will probably also be the case during the trial at the regional court of Korneuburg. However, there is no date.
