FBI Chief Announces: Trump Shooter Searches Online for Kennedy Assassin

Date:

According to the FBI, the gunman, who opened fire at a campaign event for former U.S. President Donald Trump a week and a half ago, searched the Internet for details about the assassination of John F. Kennedy before the crime. The FBI’s analysis of the gunman’s laptop showed that he wanted to know how far away Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald was when he shot then-President Kennedy in 1963.

FBI Chief Christopher Wray said this during a hearing on Trump’s assassination before the House Judiciary Committee. The Trump shooter searched for this information online on July 6, Wray said.

Search: “How far was Oswald from Kennedy”
That was the day he signed up for the Trump event in the town of Butler, Pennsylvania. “On July 6, he did a Google search for, ‘How far was Oswald from Kennedy,'” Wray said.

Shooter flies drone
The FBI chief also said that just a few hours before Trump appeared, the shooter flew a drone about 600 feet from the stage. It was in the air for about 11 minutes and was later found in the shooter’s car, according to CNN.

A gunman opened fire at a Trump campaign event on July 13, killing one spectator and seriously wounding two others. Trump was wounded in the ear.

The head of the secret service resigns.
The perpetrator was killed by security forces. In recent days, there has been strong criticism of the Secret Service’s approach, because the shooter managed to reach a roof with a direct view of the stage despite all security measures. On Tuesday, the head of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, finally took action and resigned.
