The Florianis of the volunteer fire brigade of Wiener Neudorf were called out on Wednesday morning to a serious traffic accident on the southern motorway (A2) towards Graz near Traiskirchen in the district of Baden. For unknown reasons, a truck collided with a car that was parked on the hard shoulder. The car was thrown against the crash barrier and was seriously deformed.
Seriously injured flown to hospital
The 35-year-old driver was seriously injured in the accident. “When the Wiener Neudorf fire brigade arrived at the scene of the accident, the injured driver was freed from the vehicle and received initial medical care from several first aiders, including a nurse and a Red Cross volunteer, together with the fire brigade’s Christophorus 3 medical emergency helicopter,” reports FF Wiener Neudorf.

The Florianis recovered the badly deformed car. The truck involved in the accident could be made ready to drive and left the highway under the supervision of the fire brigade. Several lanes had to be closed and there was considerable delay in traffic in the early morning.
