Motive still unclear – murder in Vienna hotel: suspect (33) arrested

After the horrific murder in a Viennese hotel last Wednesday, the suspect (33) was arrested in the Czech Republic less than 24 hours later.

On Wednesday morning, a worker was found lifeless in a hotel room in Vienna-Alsergrund by a colleague. It was not until a short time later that the emergency services were able to determine that the worker was dead. It is said that he was beaten to death with a chair. The victim is 29-year-old Pavol Ondrik from Slovakia.

Arrested in Czech Republic
Shortly afterwards, officers were able to arrest a 33-year-old Czech citizen near his home by a special unit of the Czech police. It must be a colleague.

Background still unclear
He is currently in custody. The Austrian police are now waiting for the man’s transfer. The exact background of the crime is currently unclear. According to information from Krone, a quarrel between the victim and the suspect would have been the cause.
