German AfD MEP Maximilian Krah has compared himself to US presidential candidate Donald Trump. But he is no carbon copy and does not walk around with a Trump yarmulke, he made clear in an interview with local broadcaster ‘Sachsen Fernsehen’.
“You have two ways of practicing and selling right-wing politics. You have Giorgia Meloni and you have Donald Trump. Now you may be asking yourself: Am I Giorgia Meloni or am I Donald Trump? “I am Donald Trump,” Krah said in the interview. The politician spread it on his social media channels.

“It’s about being inspired. I believe Donald Trump is an inspiration.” You can learn a lot from the Republican, such as clear language, clear content and not being intimidated. “There are a lot of things you can say: let’s do like Trump now, without a doubt.”
Get involved before the elections in Saxony
Krah is one of fifteen AfD politicians in the EU Parliament. However, he was excluded from the new delegation, partly because the party leadership was unhappy with his public appearances. The Saxons, for example, put the National Socialist SS in perspective.
Before the state elections in Saxony on September 1, he will be involved in the election campaign there again. These appearances were the decision of his Saxon state association and therefore “completely acceptable,” said co-federal chair Alice Weidel. In the German state, the AfD recently came first in an Infratest survey with 30 percent, just ahead of the CDU with 29 percent.
