In Lower Saxony, a driver reacted just right and probably prevented a serious accident. On Saturday, he saw a car slide into the guardrail on the right side of the road. He then overtook the car and discovered that the driver was unconscious.
The incident took place near the Oldenburg-Noord junction on the tangent. As N-tv reported, the man reacted quickly. He slowed the car in front of him so that it did not “drive uncontrollably into traffic on the A293”.
When the vehicle stopped, the driver and another first responder tried to resuscitate the 83-year-old driver, but without success, Oldenburg-Stad police said. A short time later, the rescue team could only determine that the man was dead.
The intervention of the emergency services on Saturday afternoon probably prevented a serious accident. The two “secured the scene of the accident in an exemplary manner and acted courageously”, according to the police.
