The investigation began in March and eight men had been targeted by the police for months. The police arrested six people – all men between 23 and 40 years old in Pinzgau, from Bosnia, Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria.
During house searches, 1.8 kilos of cannabis, 20,000 euros in cash, 18 packages of illegal sexual enhancers, but also cocaine, hash and ecstasy were seized. In the apartment of a 23-year-old, the police also found twelve flowering cannabis plants, numerous data carriers, medicine scales and large quantities of packaging material.
Multiple crimes
Last year alone, the eight defendants were found to have sold at least 24kg of herbal cannabis, 1.2kg of cocaine and 12.6kg of speed. The sales value amounts to a six-figure sum. Police also seized blackjacks, Tasers, stun guns, throwing stars and knives from the apartments.
Detectives also clarified two document suppression and violent crimes, such as aggravated coercion, persistent use of force resulting in serious bodily harm, dangerous threats and deprivation of liberty.
Two men are still in custody
As part of the investigation, investigators investigated 60 drug buyers throughout Pinzgau. Two men, aged 23 and 40, are in prison in Salzburg, while the remaining suspects are reportedly at large.
