After an IT failure at the Swiss air traffic control Skyguide, the entire airspace over Switzerland was closed for hours on Wednesday morning. Now there were also delays at Prague airport due to “computer problems”. Reason: An air traffic control system was temporarily down.
Sometimes all starts had to be postponed. However, after about half an hour, flight operations could be resumed to a limited extent. Passenger handling did not have to be interrupted.
Initially, there was no indication of a connection with the computer failures at – krone.at reports – Swiss airports.
Last year, Prague Airport handled almost 4.4 million passengers. In the last year before the corona pandemic, 2019, there were 17.8 million travelers. The airport is named after the former Czechoslovak and Czech president Vaclav Havel (1936-2011).
