According to the police, concerned passers-by started the rescue chain and alerted the fire brigade, water rescue service and emergency helicopter. Due to the rapid arrival of the Latschau fire brigade, the water rescue and helicopter operation could be canceled because both persons had already left the reservoir independently. They were slightly hypothermic, but unharmed.
