Horse farm in Gleisdorf – man in coma after fire – it was arson!

New findings in the fire at a horse farm Saturday night in Gleisdorf: it is almost certainly arson. The resident of the house next door has been in a coma since then.

Saturday evening at around 19:15, the emergency services were alerted to a fire at a horse farm in Gleisdorf. When we arrived, the farm building was completely ablaze; as reported, more than 100 emergency services were present. The fatal: the 55-year-old resident had to be flown to the LKH University Hospital Graz by the Christophorus 12 medical helicopter, where he was put into an artificial deep sleep.

After the cause of the fire was initially unclear, new findings emerged on Sunday afternoon: investigations commissioned by the Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office revealed that there were two independent fire locations. According to the Styrian police, it is “almost certain” that arson was involved. A possible arsonist has not yet been identified. The material damage amounted to several hundred thousand euros.
