A 48-year-old South Tyrolean died Sunday night after shooting his care-dependent father and a neighbor. More details about the case have now become known. The perpetrator was probably an employee of a security company.
It is said that he lived a very secluded life. Nothing was known about his motive for the time being. The Public Prosecutor’s Office in South Tyrol wants to comment on the case on Monday.
According to initial investigations, the 48-year-old probably shot his care-dependent father (90) for the first time on Sunday evening in San Candido. A neighbor (50) was startled by this sound and stepped out of her apartment. She was then also shot.
As reported, the alleged perpetrator then barricaded himself in his apartment. At around 10:30 a.m., special forces stormed the apartment building and there was gunfire.
After the incident, the man, whose father was said to have been a hunter, turned the gun on himself and seriously injured his neck. He eventually died on Sunday evening in hospital in Bolzano.
