On Sunday, a masked man stabbed a boy (11) to death on a football field in Spain in front of many people (see video above). Now a 20-year-old has been arrested. The perpetrator initially managed to escape unnoticed.
He is accused of suddenly appearing on the field in the morning and stabbing the boy with a sharp object. By the time paramedics arrived, the victim had already suffered cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated. The perpetrator’s motive remains unknown.
A massive search for him was immediately launched using helicopters. The case in the town of Mocejón caused outrage and deep consternation throughout Spain. A three-day mourning was declared in the affected area. “The murderer will be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” announced the Prime Minister of the Autonomous Community of Castile-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page.
The suspected perpetrator was finally arrested on Monday. Many questions remain unanswered for now.
