A 16-year-old from Mauthausen was driving his moped towards the centre on the Kirchenberg municipal road in the vicinity of Mauthausen on Tuesday around 14:20. At the same time, a 23-year-old from Haag (Lower Austria) wanted to turn his truck in the vicinity of the cemetery. He may have overlooked the moped rider, which caused a collision.
Witnesses provided first aid
The 16-year-old fell against a park bench and was injured. Witnesses to the accident immediately provided first aid and alerted the emergency services. After receiving first aid from the emergency doctor, the youngster was taken to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz.
A rapid drug test on the 23-year-old was positive. During the clinical examination, the doctor determined that he could not drive and his driver’s license was temporarily suspended.
