Who Owns Counterfeit Money? – Stabbing Robbery: Case Remains a Mystery

Date:

An injured person and a pile of counterfeit money raise many questions in a new criminal case in Burgenland. The victim claims the money came from the perpetrator, but he cannot be found.

‘Police, police!’ At dusk, a man who did not know the area dragged himself into a restaurant near a petrol station in Markt Allhau and asked in broken English for urgent help. With a pained expression on his face, the stranger said he had been stabbed in the stomach and robbed. The innkeeper did not hesitate to sound the alarm. The alleged victim of the robbery was indeed injured; a wound was visible on his stomach.

Syrians are said to have attacked
The emergency call triggered a large-scale operation. All officers on patrol in the area were sent to Markt Allhau in the Oberwart district. The alleged victim – believed to be a Syrian – repeated to the police that he had been attacked by an unknown perpetrator.

The attacker attacked him with a knife and stabbed him in the stomach, the man said. According to his own statements, he was in unbearable pain. The injured man was taken to the hospital in Oberwart to treat the wound. The patient could not be interviewed immediately and the help of an interpreter was necessary.

Counterfeit money from the perpetrator?
The case is difficult and poses puzzles. In the car of the alleged robbery victim, which was parked at a gas station, the police found several thousand euros in counterfeit money. The victim of the robbery claimed that the flowers came from the perpetrator. There is currently no trace of the alleged robber and stabber. The investigation is in full swing.
