On Monday evening, a dangerous attack took place at the Westbahnhof train station in Vienna. A man (30) suffered life-threatening head injuries.
When emergency services arrived around 4:30 a.m., they found the 30-year-old lying on the ground and breathing heavily. After resuscitation, the man was taken to hospital with suspected serious internal head injuries. He is in critical condition.
According to the police, the 30-year-old had met a friend earlier. Then a man allegedly attacked the 30-year-old and punched him in the face. The then unknown suspect fled towards Mariahilfer Straße.
Shortly after the escape, officers managed to arrest a 40-year-old suspect.
