It can take some time for a truck to come to a stop. This led to an accident in the municipality of Nötsch im Gailtal on Wednesday afternoon. How the incident could have happened has yet to be clarified.
The four cars parked on Wednesday afternoon on Gailtal Street in the municipality of Nötsch im Gailtal came from Lower Austria, Burgenland and the Carinthian district of Hermagor. A 65-year-old driver from the Villach-Land district arrived at the scene with his truck.
“The truck driver crashed into the four cars in front of him,” police said. “A total of four passengers in the vehicles sustained undetermined injuries.”
While the Nötsch volunteer fire brigade with 17 emergency services took care of the rescue of the vehicles, the injured were brought to the LKH Villach by the rescue team and the rescue helicopter RK1. The Gailtalstrasse was closed to all traffic for more than an hour.
