Georg Sommerbauer’s wine bar in Perchtoldsdorf (Lower Austria) has been without power since Wednesday – his contract remained unprocessed after a change of supplier in July. The involuntary ban is likely to be followed by an expensive legal battle…
A full house, a good mood and the best wine and snacks – this is how the current Heurigen week should have gone for Georg Sommerbauer in Perchtoldsdorf, district Mödling, but instead it is in the dark: “At the beginning of July I was forced to I moved to a new provider and soon signed a contract with my electricity broker, but the document should not have been processed further because the processor left the company. And now the electricity for me was just turned off,” Sommerbauer told the “Krone” .
Struggling with bureaucracy and dozens of reservations
After a loud complaint, the defaulting company relented, but electricity shouldn’t be flowing again until the next few days. Since Wednesday morning, the restaurateur has not only had to deal with network operators and electricity providers, but also with reservations: “I am currently watching the landline together with the helpful colleagues in the area to receive my loyal guests. Meanwhile, the food is cooled with dry ice. But I hope electricity will start flowing again soon.”
In the meantime, of course, the question of guilt has not yet been clarified. After all, it also involves total damage in the five-digit range. The well-known wine bar owner now wants his lawyer to resolve the matter. Responsibility for the fiasco must be clear.
