A riding school in the Weiz district went up in flames on Saturday night. The 56-year-old owner was seriously injured. Now he is suspected of having started the fire himself!
The fire brigade of a riding school in Laßnitzthal (municipality of Gleidorf) had great difficulty in extinguishing the fire and the residential building was also hit. The fire flared up again and again. The damage amounted to several hundred thousand euros. Two people, the 56-year-old owner and a 41-year-old woman, were injured.
As reported, the police were able to rule out a technical cause. The fire investigators of the State Criminal Investigation Department quickly realized: it was arson! Now there is also a suspect. It concerns the owner (56) himself, who is currently in hospital with serious injuries. He was even temporarily in an artificial deep sleep.
The police are still silent about the motive. What is fairly certain is that the man had a relationship with the slightly injured woman.
