At a construction site and a left turn in the Stockenboier Landesstraße from the eastern shore of the Weißensee towards Zlan, a moped rider from the Villach district came off the road on Thursday evening. The 15-year-old said he was careless.
The boy was catapulted through the air by a pile of gravel and landed in a nearby creek bed about 30 meters later. Passers-by immediately alerted rescuers and helped the teenager out of the creek bed and onto the bank.
The seriously injured moped rider was taken to hospital in Spittal by the emergency services.
