During a home burglary in the Gänserndorf district in 2017, two perpetrators severely assaulted their victims. Now a suspected Bulgarian is in custody, but he has not said a single word about the attack or his accomplice.
A serious crime from 2017 has been solved at least in part. At that time, on November 22, two masked men broke into a couple’s home in Stripfing through a basement window. The farmer, who was sleeping on the couch in the living room, was beaten and tied up by the men armed with knives. The then 70-year-old suffered fractures in his face. His wife (45) woke up from the noise – they also overpowered the intruders.
Victims doused with chemicals
“Money! Cash! Cash!” the robbers demanded. Finding only a few banknotes, they poured all-purpose cleaner over the pensioner and threatened to set him on fire. When the slightly injured woman protested that there was no more money in the house, the tormentors fled.
Also an attack during a burglary in Vienna
They are also accused of a burglary in Vienna, in which the apartment owner was attacked with pepper spray. After years of investigation, a Bulgarian (39) was identified as a suspect, arrested in his home country and has since been extradited. He remains silent during interrogations. He will be tried next week.
Unsolved cases
The house burglary in spring in Untertullnerbach in the Vienna Woods is still unclear. A 76-year-old woman had to remain tied up for 15 hours. In 2021, an 81-year-old died after one of the most brutal attacks in local criminal history in Poigen in the Horn district.
