The Red Cross was able to fulfill the last wish of an 83-year-old from the Mühviertler. The elderly man brought the dream mobile home to his granddaughter’s wedding in Engerwitzdorf. After the festivities, the man returned to the retirement home in Perg.
“Grandpa arrived as soon as I got out of the car and was the first to see me in my wedding dress,” Lisa-Maria fondly remembers August 10, the day of her wedding. Because her beloved grandpa Florian Kaiselgruber was able to celebrate that day with the whole family, that was anything but self-evident.
Picked up in Perg
Red Cross workers picked up the seriously ill pensioner from the nursing home in Perg at lunchtime and brought him to the town hall of Engerwitzdorf in their favorite mobile home. In doing so, they fulfilled the last great wish of the 83-year-old.
There were tears too
“It was so touching to see how much joy he and I had. “Grandpa held on all day and every time he saw me, the tears fell,” says the new bride. Great-grandson Alexander was also happy about the successful surprise visit and spent a few carefree hours with his great-grandfather. Florian Kaiselgruber was even there during the dinner and party in an inn in Gallneukirchen. Afterwards, he was taken back to the nursing home by the wish granters. “It was unforgettable,” summarized the seriously ill man.
