There are fewer and fewer industries where cash is in circulation in large quantities. The hospitality industry still has this reputation: burglars strike there time and again. That was also the case on Sunday evening at the Faaker See.
Two restaurants and a snack stand in the municipality of Finkenstein fell victim to the perpetrators. “The previously unknown perpetrators entered a restaurant by opening a tilted window, broke into the cash drawer and stole change for an initially unknown amount,” the police reported.
The shutters of the snack stand were broken open – the perpetrators also stole change there. “In another building, the sliding glass was damaged, but nothing was stolen,” the police explained. “Finally, the unknown perpetrators entered another restaurant by breaking open the back door.”
There, small change was also stolen from a drawer. The total damage from this series of burglaries amounts to several thousand euros, but the actual loot probably amounts to only a fraction of that.
