31-year-old stole money – attack on fire brigade: arsonist arrested

Date:

The Tyrolean police were able to quickly solve an arson attack on a fire brigade in particular. The initially unknown fire devil had started a fire after a break-in to cover up traces. He took thousands of euros with him. Now a 31-year-old local man has been arrested.

Shortly before 5:00 a.m. on Friday, a neighbor in Münster (Kufstein district) alerted the fire department after noticing flames. The police were notified via the control center. It soon became suspected that the fire may have started in the command room.

Several thousand euros disappeared
“It turned out that money had been stolen. An average four-figure euro amount, that is, several thousand euros,” said an investigator in an interview with the “Krone”.

Apparently the fire devil lit the fire to cover up traces. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire relatively quickly. No vehicles or equipment were damaged.

31-year-old arrested
“After extensive police investigations, a 31-year-old Austrian has been identified as a suspect,” the police explain. A small part of the loot was recovered. He threw away the safe in the inn. The well-known man, who was even a member of the Münster fire brigade a few years ago, confessed to the charges. On the orders of the public prosecutor, he was taken to Innsbruck prison.
