In Oberlaa in the tenth arrondissement there has been fear and unrest for weeks because of a group of five.
Oberlaa is actually a quiet part of Favoriten. But for a few weeks now a violent youth gang has been working on disaster and causing unrest in the Grätzel. The place of action is the Hubert-Blamauer-Park. The young suspects are said to be students from the nearby Grenzäckergasse secondary school. In broad daylight, an eight-year-old boy was robbed on his way from soccer practice. Young people set fire to a forest area last weekend.
The police confirmed complaints from residents, but there were no concrete reports. However, Grätzel’s police officers are said to be in constant contact with the residents.
FPÖ favorites chairman Stefan Berger is alarmed: “We are actually at a point where the violence in Oberlaa threatens to escalate. It is imperative to open a separate police station here.” The district says that there have been personal conversations with the teaching staff of the school and that the police have been informed.
