On Tuesday, a major police operation took place in the municipality of Kennelbach in the Rhine Valley in Vorarlberg. Passers-by discovered a man stabbing himself wildly with knives on a footpath.
On Tuesday, shortly before noon, the police received a report that a man with two knives in his hands was performing several stabbing exercises on a hiking trail in Kennelbach. Due to the report and the unclear circumstances, several police patrols were sent to the specified location, where the knife man was eventually found and arrested.
During the subsequent check at the Bregenz police station, the man stated that he wanted to protect himself from dogs with the knives. He was released after his identity was established and a report will be filed with the Bregenz district administration.
The police point out that such behavior in public spaces leads to unnecessary police action.
