Spacey will have to appear again on July 14, this time before a British Crown Court, which judges the most serious cases.
American actor Kevin Spacey is in this Thursday freedom without bail until the next trial, after a confrontation in a London court with: four loads for assaults allegedly committed in the UK between 2005 and 2013.
As explained by his attorney, Spacey has categorically denied the allegations after hearing from the judge the four charges of sexual assault filed against him.
The Oscar-winning actor and his lawyers have dealt with a swarm of photographers and television crews. Two guards from the London courthouse gave way to them, almost pushing them.
Within just half an hour, the judge read out the four assault charges. If convicted, he will face six months in prison or an unlimited fine
Spacey also faces a fifth load, for unauthorized penetration. According to the prosecutor, the actor forced a man to perform oral sex. The latter charge is the most serious, is punishable by life imprisonment and must be tried by a higher court.
The cases have taken place, according to the police between 2005 and 2013when Spacey was the artistic director of a well-known theater in London.
At Thursday’s preliminary hearing, the actor was not required to plead guilty or innocent, but his attorney has stated that he strongly denies committing any crime.
For now, he is free without bail, although the next July 14 He will have to appear again, this time before a crown court dealing with the most serious cases.
