Five already home – injured stable again after attack in Solingen

Date:

Six days after the fatal knife attack in Solingen, Germany, three wounded people are still in hospital. Five have already been released, North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) said on Thursday.

“It’s developing for the better,” Reul said. The injured are now all out of danger. The special meeting of the Committee for Internal Affairs and Integration in Düsseldorf began with a commemoration. He will never forget that Friday evening, said Reul, who immediately rushed to the scene of the crime.

As reported, two men aged 56 and 67 and a woman (56) were stabbed in the suspected Islamist attack. The alleged perpetrator is a 26-year-old Syrian who is in custody in Düsseldorf (see video above).

Deportation failed
The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office is investigating him for murder and on suspicion of membership of the terrorist militia Islamic State (IS). They claimed responsibility for the crime and published a video of a masked man. Syrian Issa Al H. should have been deported to Bulgaria last year, but that failed.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to predict exactly where someone will strike, according to the Minister of the Interior. Nevertheless, it can be said that the state is functioning, as the suspect was arrested within 24 hours. Police officers were also present on the square in the city centre before the knife attack. During the festival, several roadblocks were also set up for safety reasons.
