Terrible accident Wednesday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: a 43-year-old farmer was run over by his tractor during repair work and was seriously injured. His partner made an emergency call. The man was flown to hospital by helicopter.
The fatal industrial accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in Ellmau in the Kufstein district. “When the 43-year-old wanted to start the tractor as part of the repair work, it suddenly moved backwards when the reverse gear was engaged and rolled over both of the man’s legs,” the police reported.
Friend started rescue chain
The 43-year-old’s partner saw the accident and immediately called the emergency services. After receiving first aid from the emergency services, he was flown to the hospital in St. Johann by emergency helicopter.
