A gas station employee was brutally attacked and injured by two suspected thieves in Innsbruck on Wednesday evening. The employee caught the Somalis red-handed and confronted them. The alerted police were able to arrest the suspects.
According to the police, the two Somalis, aged 26 and 27, wanted to steal seven cans of whiskey. The employee of the gas station got wind of this and immediately called the police.
Slap in the face
The 26-year-old employee then confronted the two men. “He wanted to stop her from leaving the gas station. The 27-year-old Somali then punched him in the face, scratched his right upper arm and tried to escape,” investigators said.
Suspects arrested
The employee tried to stop the man and was hindered by the second alleged perpetrator. At the same time, the police patrol arrived. The two suspects were arrested and taken to the Innsbruck police detention center, the director said.
