Fire brigade barrier broken! In the middle of a running event in Burgenland, a drunk man raced his car across the athletics track. When he was stopped, the man completely panicked. Arrest! The Pole continued to riot in the detention room.
As has become known, worrying scenes took place on August 10th during the traditional evening run and half marathon in Stinatz. A driver who was clearly very drunk caused a commotion. “The man who was behind the wheel of a car with a Viennese license plate ignored the safety measures of our fire department and simply drove into the barrier,” eyewitnesses recall with horror.
Police officers insulted
Alarm! Patrol officers arrived very quickly and were able to stop the car near the church square. The alcoholic became angry. Help was requested. The Pole strictly refused to take an alcohol test. Instead, he started insulting the police officers in his native language and in German. “The quarrelsome man waved his hands wildly in front of the referees,” report spectators who actually wanted to watch and cheer on the runners.
Removed under protest
The driver became increasingly aggressive. The police had to handcuff him and take him away. The arrested man was taken to the police in Güssing. In the detention room, however, the unrest continued. The violent man cursed loudly, lashed out and kicked the door.
The suspect has been officially identified
After consultation with the state police headquarters in Vienna, it turned out that the hooligan is no stranger. According to the case file in the federal capital, a weapons ban has been in place against Poland since 2017, which is still valid for almost three years. The judicial authorities in his home country are also looking for him. This case is far from over.
