After a report of an alleged sexual offence was filed at the Neustifter Kirtag, the Vienna police closed the investigation. Last week it was announced that an unknown man had dragged an 18-year-old Viennese woman into a side street and raped her there. But that now appears not to be true.
The young woman had been to the fair with a friend from Lower Austria, to whom she had told about the alleged rape on the spot. The two young women then turned to emergency services and police officers, who took care of them, recorded the report and took them to a hospital.
At the hospital, the Viennese woman was also examined for signs of possible rape.
According to the police, the suspicion was unfounded. After the last investigation, they now reported to the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office. “Unless the Public Prosecutor’s Office decides otherwise,” the investigation into the case has been completed.
