Unusual operation for the fire brigade and water rescue in Kufstein, Tyrol on Thursday: an abandoned commercial vehicle had become independent and rolled into the Weißache. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., a 31-year-old resident parked the van in front of a house in the Endach district of Kufstein. “The vehicle then suddenly began to roll. The man tried to open the door and pull the handbrake, but was unable to do so,” police said.
Rolled over the dike into the stream
The abandoned company car then rolled over the adjacent dike and eventually into the Weißache. The transporter then came to a stop in the middle of the stream bed. No one was injured in the incident, investigators said.
The lost vehicle was eventually secured by water rescuers and firefighters and recovered from the creek with the assistance of a towing company.
