Paragliding – Crashed: Lines get tangled after take-off

A paragliding accident occurred in Tyrol on Friday. A German woman (35) took off from the Markbachjoch in the municipality of Niederau, but the lines of the glider became tangled at take-off. The woman fell onto the steeply sloping forest floor.

Failed takeoff Friday in Niederau. The lines of a German (35) paraglider got tangled immediately after takeoff, resulting in a so-called “snag”. The pilot lost a lot of altitude and flew into the trees after a short flight phase.

Finally, she fell to the steep forest floor, where she lay injured. The paraglider pilots present immediately started the rescue chain. After initial treatment by the emergency doctor in the rescue helicopter, the injured person was taken away, rescued with the rope and then flown to the hospital.
