A seriously drunk driver crashed into a car during a risky overtaking manoeuvre in Kumberg (near Graz) on Friday evening, went off the road and crashed into a tree. A baby was also injured in the accident.
At around 18:30, a 24-year-old Styrian was driving his car on the L 346, Gschwendter Straße, and overtook two other vehicles. As he was coming back on the line, he hit the second car. The driver’s car skidded, the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.
Car slightly damaged
The car that was hit remained on the road and was slightly damaged. A family of three from the Weiz district was in the vehicle. The 40-year-old mother and her almost two-month-old son were taken to the LKH Graz for observation.
The alcohol test showed that the driver of the accident was heavily intoxicated. The seriously injured, drunk man was taken to the Weiz LKH and a complaint is being filed against him.
