Cyber attack on Innsbruck Medical University! Unknown hackers have apparently attacked and partially paralyzed the IT infrastructure. With the support of external experts, “intensive work is now underway on the gradual recovery of services.”
“An attack on the IT infrastructure of the Medical University of Innsbruck currently limits IT services,” says a specially created website. It is imperative that all employees and students receive new passwords.
For employees, this is done personally on Tuesday within their organizational unit. Students will receive their new access data for the Audimax on Tuesdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., upon presentation of their student card.
Background still unclear
Work is underway to restore services. There is no word yet on the background of the attack. Corresponding investigations are underway.
