A man in Poland allegedly held a woman (39) in a pigsty for over five years, tortured her and repeatedly physically and psychologically raped her. A hospital raised the alarm after new injuries. The victim met her tormentor online in 2019.
A hospital alerted authorities and the woman’s ordeal came to light. The woman was taken to the clinic with a dislocated shoulder. However, older injuries soon became apparent and doctors were “shocked” by the extent of them.
Child given up for adoption
As the news channel ‘Polsat News’ reported further, the woman gave birth to a child in a hospital some time ago. It was put up for adoption.
The man faces 25 years in prison
Access to water and hygiene products was also restricted. According to the information, the authorities are investigating the man for assault and particular cruelty. If convicted, the man from the village of Gaiki near Glogow in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship could face up to 25 years in prison.
“I couldn’t tell the doctors the truth, I was afraid because he threatened me that if I complained it would get worse,” the 30-year-old told local news portal Myglogow.pl after her rescue.
