Nearly 776,000 people call Tyrol home. A look at the current figures from the Tyrolean state statistics reveals who they are and how they live. The “Krone” has summarized the most interesting facts. Tyrol had slightly more inhabitants, fewer weddings and a slight increase in crime.
The population of Tyrol is growing. This is evident from the current state statistics for 2024, which again provide some interesting figures. On 1 January 2024, 775,970 people lived in Tyrol – an increase of 0.6 percent compared to the previous year (see also the graph below). 18.7 percent of them do not have Austrian citizenship. Most foreigners are Germans and citizens of other EU countries. The second largest share consists of members of the Yugoslav successor states (2.6% of the total population) and Turks (1.5%).
