A total of fourteen police drones are currently in use in the airspace of Carinthia. The “Krone” was shown what the high-tech blue light aircraft can do.
Whether aerial photography of serious traffic accidents, reconnaissance of the situation after natural disasters, searches for criminals or illegal immigrants in border areas, the search for missing persons or the surveillance of major events: the police drones that have been used in Carinthia since 2018 have become an indispensable part of the daily lives of managers. “We currently have fourteen drones in use, spread across the country. The two oldest models are only used for training purposes. Our two largest weigh just over nine kilograms,” says Erwin Moser, Chief of Police of the Carinthia Police Department, Operations.
