The work of two brothers on a drainage ditch in Egg ended in a terrible accident on Tuesday morning. A 72-year-old was overlooked by his younger brother, who was reversing the tractor, and was hit by the trailer of the implement.
Around 11:00, the brothers were busy digging drainage ditches on the Erschalm mountain estate in Egg. The eldest of the two brothers, a 72-year-old man, took a unit out of the shed and worked on it while sitting down.
Fell over with the right rear wheel
A short while later, the 63-year-old brother was slowly backing up with his farm team to retrieve the unit with the tractor’s front loader. He failed to see the man sitting on the ground, who was run over by the right rear wheel of the trailer, in the area of his right leg and right hand.
The 72-year-old was seriously injured in the accident. After urgent medical first aid, he was taken to the state hospital in Bregenz.
