The American internet giant Google is currently launching its new generation of smartphones in Austria – and in addition to the classic models from the Pixel 9 series, there is also a foldable device with a flexible OLED display. But is the Fold model, which is almost twice as expensive and turns from a mobile phone into a mini tablet, worthwhile in everyday life? Krone+ has the test.
Google’s foldable smartphone with 256 gigabytes of storage costs at least 1,900 euros; with double the storage, the price rises to 2,030 euros. This means that the luxury device costs almost twice as much as the regular model and also a few hundred more than the other models in the Pro range that are available this year in large and small sizes. Although the name suggests that the features are identical to those of the other Pro models, apart from the foldable display, the expensive foldable mobile phone also has its drawbacks in some areas.
