The Israeli army has ended the more than two-day operation in the Palestinian refugee camp Nur Shams, in Tulkarem (West Bank).
At least 17 Palestinians have been killed in the past 48 hours in the West Bank: two of them were killed by the Israeli army on Sunday morning near the southern city of Hebron; another 14 in Tulkarem, after two nights of military raids; and one in an attack by settlers in a village south of Nablus.
The Israeli military reported the first episode in a statement saying that a Palestinian tried to stab a soldier at the Beit Einun border crossing, near Hebron, and that another opened fire on the troops.
“Our troops fired back at both attackers. According to the doctors, both of them died,” the armed forces said.
Is about one of the largest operations of the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank since the outbreak of the war in Gaza on October 7.
The medical teams were only able to enter the camp last night after a partial withdrawal of the Israeli troopsafter 48 hours of a raid, as reported by the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
