In Vienna-Floridsdorf, a 91-year-old woman was found lifeless in her home. The emergency doctor called could only determine death.
On Wednesday morning, police were called to the family home; relatives wanted to visit the elderly woman, who lived alone in a house in an allotment garden.
When they entered the house, they recoiled in horror and found the 91-year-old lifeless and with serious injuries. The woman was already dead when rescuers arrived. She was killed with a blunt object, the Crown learned.
The police are now investigating the theft and murder and are currently investigating what items are missing. The perpetrator(s) probably entered the house through a window.
