A large-scale police operation was needed in Flachgau (Salzburg). On Friday night, a 67-year-old local raced back and forth between Bürmoos and Oberndorf, firing several shots with a pistol. During the subsequent search of the house, the police found more weapons.
A witness initially registered a car with a striking driving style in the early morning of Friday morning in the vicinity of Bürmoos. The driver drove to Oberndorf, stopped in front of a house and apparently fired a shot from the car. The driver then drove in the direction of the village of Loipferding.
Randomly shot in the air
After passing, the driver stopped in a wooded area, got out and, according to witnesses, fired several times randomly into the air before getting back in and accelerating. The alarmed police started a search and the license plate of the car was also checked. The police then managed to stop and arrest the driver. Police found a gun and ammunition in the car.

During the search on behalf of the Public Prosecution Service, the police also found a 55 centimeters long machete and a nearly two meters long, homemade stabbing weapon. The 67-year-old initially gave no specific information about his behavior. He was transferred to the Salzburg prison. No people or property were injured in the incident.
